What To Expect
We believe that God created all of us to worship and glorify Him. Repeatedly, throughout the Scriptures, there are clear commands for God’s people to worship Him. Moreover, God has made clear how we are to worship Him when we gather. When New Journey Church gathers on the Lord’s Day, everything we do is centered around the Word of God. Therefore, when we gather, we sing the Word, pray the Word, read the Word, hear the Word, and see the Word. We invite any and all who desire to worship our triune God with us – come as you are!
Sing the Word
Scripture commands the people of God to sing when we gather together. This is a right response of the heart that truly loves God for who He is and what He has done. In our singing we aim to worship God and be built up to greater knowledge of Him and love for Him according to His Word.

Pray the Word
We see in Scripture that the early church was devoted to prayer together. When we gather, we spend focused time in prayer where we praise God for who He is, confess our sins to Him, thank Him for His gracious and merciful provision in Christ, and make supplication and intercede for one another, our sister churches, and the community and world around us. In all of this we glorify God as we express our gratitude and complete dependence upon Him in all things.
Read the Word
God commands His people to be devoted to the public reading of Scripture. It is in His Word that He reveals Himself to us, reveals our desperate condition before Him as sinners, and reveals the way of salvation by grace alone through faith alone in Christ alone. Thus, we commit ourselves fully to the reading of God’s Word that we would rightly know Him and what He is doing in the world for His own glory and the joy of His people through Christ our Lord.

Hear the Word
Closely related to the reading of God’s Word is the preaching of God’s Word in our worship gatherings. We recognize that we are a people who regularly need to hear from God, and we believe that this happens through the faithful preaching of His Word revealed in Scripture. We devote ourselves to this task as our pastors spend significant time preaching verse by verse through God’s Word––explaining its meaning and applying its truths to our life and ministry together that we might grow up together in Christlike maturity all for the glory of God.
See the Word
When we gather, we also have the great joy of seeing the Word on display in two ordinances instituted by the Lord Jesus Christ––Believer’s Baptism and the Lord’s Supper. Both ordinances are a visible and tangible portrayal of what God has done for us in the person and work of the Lord Jesus Christ and serve to remind and encourage every believer as we remember and proclaim the gospel together.
